Managing equipment inventory without purpose-built tools is a slow, error-prone process. We built a SharePoint-based inventory management system with barcode scanning, bin location management, and pick list generation.
The Situation
Inventory was tracked manually. No barcode scanning. No structured bin locations. Picking equipment for a deployment meant someone physically walking the storage area and guessing.
The margin for error in EMS equipment management isn't wide. "Mostly right" isn't good enough.
The Work
A Canvas App layered on SharePoint, purpose-built for inventory management. Barcode scanning via mobile device updates inventory records in real time. Bin location management gives every item a tracked home. Pick lists are generated automatically for deployments.
Built on SharePoint so it lives in the same ecosystem the organization already uses, no new platform to manage, no new credentials to hand out.
