Ryon volunteers with El Paso County Search and Rescue.
SAR work has a way of clarifying priorities. Systems either work or they don't, and the cost of "mostly works" is too high. That thinking carries into every project.
When he's not working, he's hiking Colorado trails with his husky Maverick, building fictional worlds that span centuries, or deep in an RTS or survival game figuring out why the colony isn't making it.

Good work shouldn't require a large agency, a bloated contract, or three rounds of miscommunication. It should require one person who knows what they're doing and shows up ready to do it.
